Just wanted to forewarn everybody that the reception is taking place on a pier. You might want to take this into consideration when choosing your footwear for the evening!

Wedding Weekend Activities

As all of you are starting to plan your trip down to Key West, I wanted let all of you know about some of the activities and times for things that will be taking place. We really only have 1 "activity" and by no means is it mandatory--it's extremely important to us that each of you enjoy your vacation down in Key West!

Saturday, April 10th--Scavenger hunt around Key West. This is still in the works, but the "hunt" will lead you around all of the famous spots of Key West and some of our favorites, to get you acquainted with some new faces and places. The more points you earn, the better chance you have of winning the grand prize! Hopefully that will intice you not to get caught up at a local watering hole for too long :) Hunt will start around 4ish. More details to come...

Sunday, April 11th--The BIG Day! Wedding ceremony will start at 6pm at the Audubon House. Reception will be immediately following, starting at 7pm at the Ocean Key Resorts Pier.

Please check the blog back closer to the wedding day to get more specific updates about transportation on the wedding day and some other important info!

Accomodations

Morgan & I have decided against setting aside a block of rooms at various Key West locales, and have instead compiled a list of different types of accomodations ranging in price to allow all of our guests to make a choice based on their own individual preferences. The list below is broken down into 4 price ranges and each category has an array of different types of accomodations to choose from. If any of you need any help in choosing a place to stay, please do not hesitate to ask Morgan or myself, we're here to help!


FYI...Morgan and I, along with the wedding party, will be staying in private "cabanas". The address is 916 Center Street, just in case you would like to stay in the same vicinty. The cabanas are about half way down Duval Street in between bustling Mallory Square at one end of the island and Southernmost Point, which is the quieter end of the island. The ceremony (at the Audubon House) and reception (Ocean Key Resort) are right in the middle of Mallory Square and all the festivities. Mallory Square is about a 15-20 minute walk from Southernmost. All of the accomodations listed below are within walking distance to beaches, bars, and all of the wedding activities. The island also has bike, moped and car rentals if you prefer.

Ryan Moretti-Best Man-Friend of the Groom

I originally met Ryan in Kindergarten at Cape Henry Collegiate, lost touch and rekindled our friendship in high school with a common interest in extra-curricular activities. Ryan was my roommate when I met Farrell and largely responsible for putting me in the wrong place at the right time.

Tommy Willcox-Best Man-Friend of the Groom

I met Tommy in middle school and quickly became close friends through soccer. He was my #1 defender during high school and club soccer and to this day I can always rely on him for great times and even better stories. He currently resides in Charleston, SC.

Josh Parnell-Groomsmen-Friend of the Groom

Josh-I don't really know him that well..., although he is a tremendous aggressive-in line skater. He currently resides on the Pro-Rollerblade tour...coming to a city near you.

Bryan Wells-Groomsmen-Friend of the Groom

Bryan is another close "soccer buddy". We met in middle school and became very tight through high school. He is a graduate of the University of Louisville and is pictured here with his fiance, Stacy. They currently live in Virginia Beach.

Dan Howard-Groomsmen-Friend of the Groom

I met Dan at my first "real job". We became close buddies while slaving away in the boiler-room of SteelMaster Buildings. Dan continues to provide great conversation and intellect...from what I can remember when we hang out. If he tries to sell you something, politely walk away.

John Pharr-Groomsmen-Friend of the Groom

I first met John on a crazy weekend home my first semester of college. We met back up in Charleston on many separate occasions, which resulted in many great stories. John lives in Virginia Beach and is currently dating Farrell's sister, Courtney.

Conor McInturff-Groomsmen-Friend of the Groom

I first met Conor on the "Bad Dudes" neighborhood soccer team in 2nd grade. After his dad led us to multiple undefeated seasons I decided he was pretty cool guy. Conor is a Graduate of The College of Charleston and currently lives in Virginia Beach where he aggressively saves for his next surf trip around the world.

Courtney Shoup-Maid of Honor-Sister of the Bride

Courtney is my older sister. I feel blessed to not only have her as my sister, but also as my best friend. Not many people are able to live under the same roof as their siblings, but some of my fondest memories are while Morgan, Courtney and I shared a home. I can always count on her to show me the road less travelled :) She currently is the owner of Creative World Preschool and lives in Va. Beach, VA.

Taren Gregory-Maid of Honor-Best Friend of the Bride

Taren and I have been inseparable since highschool--people often called us "Faren" in the hallways. Even though we have been 1,ooo miles apart for more than 9 years since we graduated high school together, I feel like we haven't skipped a beat. Taren is currently a Nurse and lives in San Diego, CA.

Bree Edwards-Bridesmaid-Sister of the Groom

Bree is Morgans younger sister. Bree has often been the bartender at Morgans "Scallop Road" parties and I am excited to have another sister. She will be entering her senior year of college at James Madison University this Fall.

Katy Quackenbush-Bridesmaid-Cousin of the Bride

Katy and I have spent Spring Breaks in FL together ever since I can remember. She lives in Ft. Lauderdale, FL and is currently going back to school for Speech Pathology. She got married in December 2008.

Colleen Christl-Bridesmaid-Childhood Friend of the Bride

Colleen and I grew up swimming together for the Alanton Bolts. We were pool rats (along with Best Man Tommy) all day every day while we were growing up. We reconnected after we both graduated college. She is newly engaged and is also a Nurse in CA (soon to be moving back to VB!).

Mikell Beechinor-Bridesmaid-College Friend of the Bride

Mikell (on the left) and I met freshman year in the all-girl dorm, Patterson Hall, at the University of South Carolina. Although we only spent 2 years together at USC, we have many memories together in Charleston, London, NY, Canada and FL. She got married in May and currently splits her time between Charleston, SC and Phoenix, AZ where her husband is finishing up Grad School.

Nikki Tuggle-Bridesmaid-College Friend of the Bride

Nikki (on the left) and I also lived together in Patty Hall at USC. We were "bathroom buddies" our sophomore year and had the best decorated bathroom this side of the Mason-Dixon Line. She is a flight attendant for Continental Airlines and lives in Newark, NJ.

Nicki Bucceri-Bridesmaid-College Friend of the Bride

Nicki and Nikki were roommates at USC freshman year and lived down the hall from me. Nicki and I share the same birthday practically (a day apart in June) and she has always reminded me of myself. She is originally from upstate NY and currently lives in Charlotte, NC.

Ange and I met in highschool and she was often my partner in crime. She currently works for Cox Communications in Virginia Beach, VA.
